The Top Tequila And Mezcal From The 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

After Winning Best in the Word, Black Sheep Follows up with another Double Gold, and is one win away from the rate Platium Award.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) has announced the top Tequilas, mezcals, and other agave spirits from the 2023 judging. The Best in Show category winners will be announced at the Top Shelf Awards Gala and Grand Tasting on June 16 and 17 at Resorts World in Las Vegas. Tickets for the event are available at the Top Shelf website or through ReserveBar.

Forty-eight entries won the coveted Double Gold medal: six Silver/Gold Tequilas, four Reposado Tequilas, eight Añejo Tequilas, and three Extra Añejo Tequilas. Twenty-six mezcals won Double Gold medals, as did one other agave spirit.

Fifty-four other spirits won Gold medals: six Silver/Gold Tequilas, seven Reposado Tequilas, thirteen Añejo Tequilas, and eight Extra Añejo tequilas. Twenty-one mezcals won Gold medals, as did another six assorted agave spirits.
